Okay, so on the R56, if you program the car to autolock at 10mph, it will automatically unlock when you turn off the engine. Correct?
Not here in the US. I have mine set to lock at 10mph, then when i turn off the engine I have to do the double door handle pull to unlock then open the door.

No, it will not automatically unlock. The doors remain locked until you unlock them, by pulling the door handle once, or hitting the power lock toggle on the center stack. The next pull of the door handle opens the door.

If someone has found a way to program around this to work like the R53, I would like to know how to do it.

surprise - found an extra wiper arm trim piece sitting under the hood next to the hinge! I think the guy who puts these on in the factory dropped it and did not know where it went?

Something I didn't know--the radio favorites for one key fob are different for the other--mine are programmed in on my key only!

By switching the automatic trans to the left in shift mode with the shifter, the paddle shifters won't switch back into automatic mode.

I do wish I could permanentaly set the steering to sport mode, and keep the rpms low... oh well.

I first read this on MINI2 and it works for me.

Put your key in.
Start the car with the start/stop button.
Stop the car with the start/stop button.
Remove your key.
Start the car with the start/stop button.

I'm not sure how long you have after you remove the key to start the car but it's at least 5 seconds or until you open the door.

They say in the manual that it allows you to operate the windows for 20seconds - looks like the starter is on the same circuit.

Ok - here is one.

Its snowing, I have the front wiper on, rear wiper off. I shift into reverse when I am parking, and the rear wiper comes on by itself and runs until I take the car out of reverse! Handy!

We have a Mercedes van at work that does that too. The rear wiper is all dried up and hard, and the first time it happened to me all I heard was "SCREEEEECCCCHHHH" I couldn't figure out what I backed into!

Yesterday was the first time in the rain with the R56 and I discovered that the wiper stalk is a lot like the turn signal operation. Push up once for intermittent (in my case, rain sensing) up again for slow speed, up again for fast. Press down to step down on speed. From off to fast is push up three times, from fast to off is push down 3 times. Like a sequential shifter.

did you know that your R56 can calculate MPG, liters per 100 kilometers or kilometers per litre?

Ooooo - you can adjust the degree with which the radio raises your volume as your speed increases!

Bring up the radio controls with the music note button, there is bass, treble, balance, and fade, and the speed/volume adjustment.

I didn't know that MINI now recommends rotating the tires front to back every 3k to 5k miles. Its in the 07 manual.
I wonder if they will do it for free as part of the maintenance plan since they recommend it??

I'll give my SA a call about this.

Yes, I saw that. Good question about whether they'll include it in the maintenance plan. Somehow I don't think so. Please post when you find out.
