At the launch party I went to on friday only one of the cars I sat in had that feature. Didn't take the time to ask a MA why that was...

Dude -- you waited long enough for this MINI it would be a shame if it ended up in a police auction!

I wish mine had it! Apparently they didnt start making the secret compartment until the week after mine. At the dealership there was an assortment of cars that had it and didnt.

Yikes. When was yours built? I ordered 12/15/06, I can't imagine yours was built before mine. I can't imagine that the cars at the Detroit show were built after yours, and they all had the compartment.

My MA said the same thing, the earlier cars he got were not equipped with the CD changer compartment and trick door. But the car I test drove today, which was newer, had the door.

I was week 4 also - I'll be disappointed if I don't have that little space.

I wonder if it has to do with having the HiFi option. As I understand it, the CD changer requires the HiFi option, but I could be imagining that.

I'll be very disapointed if it doesn't... I do have the Hi/Fi option and the one I sat in today had it w/ the Hi-Fi option!

I find that a bit odd - I don't know why you wouldn't be able to buy a changer for either boost or HiFi. Think about it - the changer is an accessory - and if I were a betting man- I would say it supports both.

Also, I heard all cars have the feature - it just depends on if it is locked by the PDI guys.

True, after checking the configurator, it's not tied.
