Ran with a new '07 MCS near the VPC in Oxnard today

Hello Mini'rs....

I went out to the BMW VPC to try to spot the new E92 M3 today, but instead caught the new MCS. I haven't been to the board in a while but I'm sure you've all seen the photos (I didn't take any) The car was completely unmasked.

I was in my stock '05 Evo 8 and I can say the new MCS is pretty quick. I took off behind him and he started to accellerate hard, so, so did I. I had to lift as I acellerated thru 1st gear to avoid hitting him, but then after I lifted, he continued to accelerate so I floored it again. Let me tell you, we were even... at that point, I could not pull up on him even though I wound out both 2nd and 3rd gear before I slowed down. We were even.

"fwiw" I know when you're waiting for a new car, you're hungry for any info!

nice

it's prob all that usable torque the new motor cranks out from 1500 to 5000 rpm, literally, one could drive in 3rd gear all day long. nice report.

Pretty cool that you found someone who was willing to test with you on that closed road. He obviously knew what the deal is with the Evo. Thanks for posting.
