Hpfp?

So I've read if there's oil on my HPFP it's on its way out... Below is a pic. Is this what that looks like?

Also, do any of you know if this is covered under warranty? My '07 S has 87k on it.

Any symptoms like cold start/idle issues? Misfire at mid-high rpm?

Yes. Cold start. And it doesn't want to idle when taking off slowly first thing in the morning. Usually keeping sport turned on help some. But ATM I'm having the valve cover replaced and trying to fix an issue with the temp sensor not reading after having the housing replaced.

make sure the correct plug is connecting the temp sensor, it is common to switch the two wires as the color coding is misleading if you didn't take note of which is which when removing the housing

I checked today. The dealer done it, but the wire to the oil pressure sensor has one wire, and that to the CTS has two. Going to switch the one to the sensor on the PCV hose tomorrow with the CTS to see if those are backwards.

MINI has extended the warranty on the HPFP on some of the N14 engines to 10 years for 120K. You would need to call you local MINI dealer to see if your VIN is covered by this. They won't just replace it without running the service plan, which means you have to leave it for a few days for them to test under certain conditions.
