Anyone put a JCW muffler on a Gen 2 MCS?

I have a '12 S and would like it to be a little louder but not obnoxious. How much louder would a JCW muffler be if the rest of the exhaust remained stock? Is there a lot of backfiring like I have heard on some sound bytes? (They sound a bit much for my tastes.) Thanks!

I have the fjcw exhaust on my 11 S. It's deeper and throatier, but nothing obnoxious. No drone on highway speeds. Once it's warmed up it pops and bangs a lot more than the stock exhaust.

I can take a cold (Los Angeles cold) start up video this weekend if you want.

I love the sound of my 2011 MCS with nothing more than a 2 inch straight pipe in place of the exhaust resonator. More throaty, a bit more pops and burbles, not droning. Plus, if you keep the resonator, totally reversable. Cost me 40 bucks, but the exhaust guy is a buddy, so you may pay a bit more. Worth a shot.

If your 12 is like my 11, pops and burbles are only "on" with Sport Mode. Granted, with Sport off, you lose the throttle effect and the steering feel.

I have an 08 with the fJCW muffler, here's a comparo of sound stock vs JCW:

Unfortunately since it's an 08 there's no pops and burbles. But you can get a general sense of the sound difference. It's louder but not annoyingly loud, and there's no drone on the highway at normal speeds (

It's been done a lot. There is one for sale in the classifieds.

I had an Invidia and it sucked. The drone was horrible. Gone within a week. I installed an Akropovic on my friends FJCW last weekend. Sounds great, no drone, but at $1800, not cheap...lol
