R56 Antenna options?

Antenna options?
Bought my R56 with no antenna. Someone ripped off the long part, but the base plate is still there. I've been using the radio with no problems though. The dealer said they would send me a new one but I hate the long stock antenna so I would never put that back on anyway. I've been looking online for a new one. I see the stubbies everywhere and will probably pick up a 2" one. But I real like the BMW style shark fins.
Any good ones out there that are compatible?

MINI does offer their own short antenna, but we don't recommend them as we have already seen several of them have the plastic crack and it break.

If you do end up getting a non shark fin style check out our all aluminum stubby antenna

To help you out with your decision, I've got a bunch of antenna unboxing videos on my YouTube channel.
CravenSpeed also has a "Stubby" and "Stubby Jr.", which I haven't posted yet, but both are of high quality.
All the aftermarket Antennae I've used work pretty well on the Mini, although I've found stubbies do not necessarily work as well on vehicles where the antenna is mounted below the roof line.
My personal favorite is the CravenSpeed bullet stubbie. See attached.
If you're in Canada, I'm a CravenSpeed dealer and can sort you out with any of their products.

i have the roof rack and use it pretty often so i needed a short antenna or it got in the way.
there's a comment above that says they don't recommend the MINI stubby antenna because it can break. well... it's supposed to. if anything applies pressure to the antenna, you'd much rather have the $30 antenna break than the entire base break because your antenna has no flexibility. that's exactly how i broke mine.
now, i don't use an antenna. i just screwed an acorn nut into the base, so there's just a nub sticking up.
