Fog Light HELP

So the other day I was installing a skid plate and noticed that my fog lights both looked bad. so I called Mini and the said it would run me $190 to buy a brand new one... I didn't want to spend about 380 for two new fog lights.

Does anybody have any ideas? or do the lights come apart to where I can buy a damaged one?

Yea its corroded and the reflective material is pealing off or something , must have gotten water in there at some point. They are sealed units. 63172751295

You can either get new ones. Or just upgrade to LED DRLs.

They can't be disassembled; you have to replace the entire unit. I bought a pair of used lights off eBay several yrs ago for less than $100. This pair is on eBay right now http://www.ebay.com/itm/07-13-MINI-COOPER-S-CLUBMAN-R55-R56-R57-OEM-FRONT-FOG-LIGHT-SET-LEFT-RIGHT-/251939123266?hash=item3aa8bdf042&vxp=mtr. They can be replaced without removing the bumper but it's a little tricky. The right side is not too bad but the windshield washer bottle is in the way on the drivers side. Read post 10 in this thread https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ml#post3410142.

You didn't say whether the lights still work. If they work, or you never use the fogs anyway, I wouldn't bother.

They're an option. If you had them (I'm assuming you don't have them) you'd have the toggle where the blank space is next to the passenger side window control.

Typically, you can open them up and see what you can do, but probably buying a new set is the best option. Have some options here. This tech article goes up to an R53, but can't see it being much more difficult to remove on yours. Might be able to use it as a reference for removal. Good luck!

Factory rear fog lights can be added on the stock Cooper S bumper , there are black holes for the 2007-2010 version . They you will need the toggle switch and panel if you want the complete look, then a MINI dealership or someone can code it.

Ahhh. Guessing that's a European requirement. I like it though. Sounds expensive.
