New starter installed - Turning but not engaging?

Hi,

Today we changed the starter on my MINI R56 Justa and we we went for the 'start', we heard the big starter going like 'zuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu' but not engaging into the engine.

I know, we already thought about Selenoid not well plugged but the connection are really simple. Just the sqaure plus ang the big red cable on the bolt.
The connections look clean...

Any Help, it is urgent... She's stuck on the ShopRite Parking!!

I am pretty sure it comes from the solenoid.

It is not pushing the flywheel. So two solutions :

- or it doesn't receive power (electrical problem) where is the Fuse corresponding, I can't find it!

- or dead solenoid if it received power.

I am gonna try with a voltmeter to check if it receives power which I think it doesn't (only solenoid, the big servo engine of the starter works).

Is anybody can give me the location of the corresponding fuses or relays for the solenoid ?

Thanks a lot guys.

Are you certain that the engine is not seized? Was the flywheel turning?

Yes everything is really fine and doubled inspected. It's the solenoid not pushing the flywheel!

Do you know what relay is the one that is for the solenoid ?

Looking at the diagram. Electronic Immobilizer Control Unit acts on starter. This unit has input from A/T trans control unit, ignition switch, gear position switch (in and out of park position?).

Small update.

The starter worked fine. It was only not positioned very well because of a spring in one of the bolt was missing from the old starter. The flywheel was not going in.
