08 MCS Yellow Coming Home Soon!
I just cut a deal on an 08 MCS, yellow with a black roof. I'll be flying out on Friday to claim the beast and drive it 17 hours back home. Yes I wrote 17 hours! The car appears to have been well maintained and the timing set was just done by Mini so it should be good to go for the summer.
This promises to be a good road trip so I will bring the camera and give y'all a full report upon my arrival back at home in New Brunswick.
Here are a couple of teaser pictures.

Good to hear, Nice color combination. My car originally had crown spoke wheels as part of the sport suspension package, maybe that is what yours has? If you bought it at a dealer, see if they can give you the original order info, so you know what options the car came with. Hopefully it has cruise control for your long ride home.
The car should have an aux jack under the heater controls for some tunes.
Have fun on your ride home.

It's a private sale so not a ton of information but she was cheap and I'm sure full of surprises. It does have cruise and blue tooth etc. In fact it seems to be pretty well equipped with the exception of the panoramic sun roof. This is a plus for me because I hate being out in the blistering sun and driving our 09 with the sun roof is quite unpleasant.

The car is located near London Ontario. I never thought of a Mustang as being a smooth ride but I suppose that would depend on the suspension package underneath it. There is no doubt that at some point I will wish I was in my SUV for this trip but once it's home that will all change.

Hey, can someone explain why some minis have a digital climate control while others seem to have just a selector **** where the digital display goes?
This is the digital,

This is the manual control,

I'm sure it's an option of some kind but what are they calling it and can you upgrade from the manual system to the digital without too much trouble?

The automatic climate control is an option (digital display), it controls fan speed and modulates the temp of the air to reach the desired setpoint. The **** style is a manual control. I don't know what would be required to change from one to another. My car has the 'premium package', which is an upgraded radio, auto climate control, and sunroof. I'm sure it was available separately. I wonder if the satellite radio subscription is active? That is a nice way to pass the time.
I see that you do have sport suspension, that is larger sway bars and different shocks/springs. I like the sport seats, they should be comfortable for your ride.
Enjoy your ride home. London is a nice city, college town. There should be some great restaurants.
Have fun,
Mike

So I'm pleased to report that the Mini and I managed to cover the 1700 kms without any drama. No hiccups at all! It ran fine, pulls like a freight train and got amazing fuel economy.
I'm surprised at how much torque this little beast has and I'm wondering it it may be chipped. It's also got really crappy throttle response off idle but that improves once at cruise speeds. It also improves in sport mode for some reason.
She has a cold air intake made by Alta which I'm not fond of and will be replacing with stock components asap. The blow off valve appears to be aftermarket as well and makes LOTS of whoosh noises when shifting under boost. Not sure I like it but I'll reserve judgement for a while. My wife took it out this morning and it didn't whoosh even once as she was so timid with the throttle. Pretty funny actually. I don't think she likes it.
I haven't given her a bath yet as I've been dealing with other matters today like a blown motor in the hot tub (OMG the world is ending)! LOL
Oh and for any doubters out there, yah that is snow in my yard. Lots of it.
