2007 R56 Headlight Issue

I have an R56 Cooper with the driver's side headlight out. Changed bulbs to no avail. checked bulb in passenger side and it works. Is there a fuse somewhere associated with the headlights that i need to check? Or is it a wiring problem somewhere? Anyone have any issues like this?

Were the bulbs aftermarket? I actually had a pair of aftermarkets partially melt part of the socket from becoming too hot. Now I have to slightly bend the pins on the bulb to make proper contact. Does it flicker if you wiggle it or move the wiring slightly?

Yes, the bulb is aftermarket, however, the bulb works in the passenger side headlamp that is working so it does not appear that it is a bulb issue.

Right, what I'm saying is check the car side of the connection or see if it'll work if you wiggle the wiring.

Also, check the connector (not on the bulb itself, on the car side of the connection) and see if it's maybe charred or dirty.

I've never had an issue like this, but the first step I would take is to grab a multimeter and check for voltage at the connector. That rule out wriggling the connector or anything. Then start with fuses and work your way around the wiring looking for burned wiring or splices/breaks in it.
