R56 Modify seat recliner lever.

Modify seat recliner lever.
Most cars have the seat recliner lever on the left side (USDM).
This R56 has it on the right.
My wife has MS, and limited strength in her right arm, so reaching around the center arm rest is a no-go, lifting the arm rest is just as hard due to the arm rest blocking your elbow.
Has anyone modified the lever, as in getting a longer one, or swap seats so the lever is on the left!!

I think the easiest path is to swap the seats left to right. Not the tracks, but the seats that bolt to the tracks. That should work. For the lever, see if you can find something that can be screwed to the existing lever. Just keep in mind it will protrude out further and create an obstruction, even a danger in an accident.

You are correct. I just had my seats apart and the air bag goes into a pocket that is on the outboard side under the cover. Going a little bit deeper would fix this. Swap the seats from left to right, then swap the seat covers and foam from left to right and bring the air bag with it. It is not for the faint of heart, but it could be done. It becomes a bigger project, but it is certainly doable.
