Replace the OEM **** with JCW **** in 30 SECONDS!!!

I hate the OEM shift **** on the Mini Cooper R56 so decided to get the JCW ****. Got the **** but no instructions on how to install so I googled and saw that there were a lot of different suggestions on how to remove and install aftermarket *****. Some were taking the boot trim ring off while others took the entire center console off.....not necessary. Here's how you can do it in 30 seconds.

Tool needed - small flat screwdriver

1. remove the OEM **** from the shifter shaft by pulling straight up with the boot intact (mine came out without too much effort)
2. using a small screwdriver, gently pry the **** from the plastic clip that holds the boot to the bottom of the **** - once the **** assy has been taken off the shaft, it is very easy to do this as the plastic "fingers" will give easily and the **** should separate from the boot
3. insert the bottom of the JCW **** into the boot and click it in
4. take the entire ****/boot assy and insert it onto the shaft keeping the logo parallel to the dash - done!!

To be honest, it took me about 30 mins to figure this out with all of the research on the web but now I can replicate it in 30 seconds. Good luck and enjoy the new ****.
