the continentals dws (dry, wet, snow) are all season and are very good tires for all season, I used to have them on my other mini. I'm also looking for summer tires now as well to replace the runflats, and I'm leaning toward the michelin pilot ss.

Better than my run flats but I can still spin the tires on launch. Also seem to be wearing fast.

Oh, Michelin Pilot Super Sports !
Simply awesome rubber....don't even think about taking them out in the snow, and be careful on dry pavement when it's below freezing temps. Definitely 2 season tires only
They heat up quick and maintain grip over a good amount of time....
Downside for all that adhesion? Only a 30k mile tread warranty.
BUT for 17" sizes they should not be too expensive.

I just finished off a set of Hankook V12's. I got 10K out of them with spirited driving and one track day. I liked them more than I thought I would. Grip is still good even though I'm down to 1/32nds of tread and the ride was pretty quiet up until a couple thousand miles ago.
If you're considering the Conti DW's keep in mind that they have a very soft sidewall and a lot of people complain about the dull steering response. On the flip side the ride is supposedly smoother and quieter than many other summer tires.
EDIT: Also, keep in mind that if you up your tire size to 215/45/17 your choices will increase significantly. For example, Michelin Pilot Super Sports are excellent tires but are not available in 205/45/17's. Just something to keep in mind.

+1. Not to mention most summer tires don't even offer a tread-wear warranty. 30K for a summer tire as great as the PSS is incredible.

100% correct my friend, and a great tip. There are 5 or 6 pages of choices at Discount Tire in the 215 size....

I prefer to "make it fast, wear them out, and make the manufacturer replace them under warranty"
I love treadwear warranties on sport tires

I have Michelin Pilot Super Sports and love them, but.....
The 30k treadlife warranty will be a lifesaver, as mine are pretty worn out with less than 11k on them.
There's simply no way anyone will get anywhere close to 30k on these.
Discount Tire warranty minus MINI club discount FTW!

my independant tire store warrants the tires plus they beat every price i have seen, i got 4 x 225/50R18 PSS for $600 installed/balanced/out-the-door ... the next set will be even less due to the treadwear warranty!

from what my tire guy told the me, the conti extreme dw have a 40k mile tread warranty, these tires are about $60 less a tire than the michelin pilot super sports, are the michelin really worth that much extra? i was reading reviews and they were all saying the tread wore out way too fast, around 16k miles...

also does anyone have the bf goodrich g-force t/a kdw 2? ive heard some good things about them from my buddy with his subaru and to be honest the tread on them look awesome.
