The Official R56 1/4 Mile Time Thread

Hey all. been lurking for a while and thought i'd join and contribute to the community. I'm personally big into LEGAL Drag Racing as there is a track about 20 miles from my house. I'm a previous vw owner and there was a huge 100+ page thread about this on vortex so i want to start one here. Now I don't want there to be any confusion as i don't want the mods to come take it away so i'm going to lay down some rules.

1. Legal drag racing only. Don't come on here talking about stoplight racing.

2. Keep the thread free of clutter. Don't be arguing, or having a back and fourth conversation with someone on here. please PM.

3. Post as many specs on car as possible, year, engine, mods, street tires, dr. as much info as possible.

4. Post pics, dyno sheets and anything that pertains. if you have a video of you making a pass that would be great too.

5. This is the part that might get the thread into trouble but this is where i ask you to cooperate as I'm curious myself. Any car that you have beaten at the drag strip tell us about it. If you lined up next to a k22 civic and it whooped you, tell us about it. If you kicked an SS cobalt or a mk6 gti we are all ears.

Here are some stock times thanks to Braminator to compare your runs to.

While i haven't had a chance to bring my current car to the strip(wife is prego and no time) i'll throw a pic at you to get things started. Just recently came back from a vacation in Tennessee. Enjoy!!

I don't see where you came to that conclusion after reading what i posted. In point number three i specifically ask for all work done to your car including all mods. But if you do run a stock mini and have times to post up all is welcome.

So car and driver has covered all of our cars, different mods, and 1/4 mile times for all of us? idk why this thread is having a rough start and why does everyone thing that we are talking a stock r56? I clearly stated modded cars. and have even clarified in a separate post. But thank you for your input.

Actually, I was trying to find out what true stock specs were. I have been having issues getting true specs for my 2013 MCS. But if this is going to be a hostile thread; F' it.. I got better things to do! Read the F'n Title prior to responding immaturely...

Not really going to argue as I want this thread to stay on what little track is left. I apologize if i sounded hostile. But i did read it and if you would have written your initial response a little more clearly i wouldn't have misunderstood you. I just googled 2013 MCS 0-60 and found around 6.5 for 0-60 and for 1/4 the general consensus is around 15.0-15.2. Again I apologize if i sounded hostile.

I digress... This thread will be cool for all of us moding out our rides. Some of the info on the Net is somewhat construed that's why I was asking for NAM general consensus.

Hope my comment did not band me from what would be a cool topic. Lets all Motor On....

I saw the title of the thread and immediately understood what you are going for. I read the rules and they were exactly what I expected, made perfect sense to me. I don't get any opportunities to run my Mini on a drag strip, so I'm very curious about what kind of times others get when they get out and run. Of course, times mean nothing if we don't know the setup, so I'm glad you specified. The only other suggestion I would make is to post race location as altitude can make a big difference. If I ever get the chance to get to a drag strip, I will post my times. Until then, I will be watching closely. Good idea. Hope this thread takes off

This is another thread about taking a $1000 hooker to the prom. Yes you can, but there are much better uses. lol

A lot like the guys on Bimmerforums drag racing their M3's. For the amount of money you will spend to run 12's, you could have bought a 1/2 back pony car and be running 9's with lots of cash left over...

Just saying...

Thank you for all the stock mini times. I'm pretty sure everyone knows about that website. But it'd be nice to see some real world numbers. Along with people running with mods. Like I've stated 3 times already. And to the comment about the m3 forums. I don't see how this has any relevance to the thread. People throw a crap ton of money into their engines. And people are going to drag race. It may not be what the mini was designed for but it can be a little rocket with the right mods and you can have fun. That's what it's all about. I'd rather take my mini down the strip than a fox body mustang any day of the week.

If this forum had "up" and "down" votes, I'd have to give this post a "down". How did this post add to the discussion/data that the op is trying to garner?

And people are going to drag race. It may not be what the mini was designed for but it can be a little rocket with the right mods and you can have fun. That's what it's all about. I'd rather take my mini down the strip than a fox body mustang any day of the week.
