Weird leaky windshield wiper jet
On my '07 MC one of the windshield washer jets has started leaking, but only while the car is turned off.
I can wash and dry/polish and everything is fine. I drive to my destination and everything is still fine. I can run my finger over the nozzle and it is absolutely dry.
I come back a couple of hours later and there is a line where a little dribble of fluid has come out of the nozzle and down the hood and then dried.
Last night I caught it in the act, sort of. I came back out after 20 minutes of the car sitting and the nozzle had a very small amount of liquid on it. It hadn't actually started to drip yet.
I keep cleaning it off and it is back every time the car sits. It doesn't matter if I used the washer jets or not, or if the car was washed in the last couple of days or not.
I hate to take it back to the dealer for only this and no maintenance is needed for 13k miles yet. It's making me pretty nuts.
Any suggestions? Any one else see this? Is the nozzle something I can just replace myself?
TIA!

My did the same exact thing, it did stop after a month or so. Unfortunately because the bonnet gets so hot, some fluid actually dried and left a small stain near the jets. Take it to the dealer before that happens to you...kinda sad this kinda of thing happens on a 30K car though , anyway Good luck !

No not yet , the dealer is about 190 miles from where I live; When I get the 10K service I will bring it to their attention. I don't think changing a bonnet stripe out is a big deal, hopefully your dealer will take care of it for you...

I know it's an old thread, but the same thing happen to my 2012 MCS. It happened to me last year a couple of times and it's happening again. I check the washer reservoir is NOT full.
And I just spend 3 hours waxing it.
Any thought on the fix ?
Thanks.

several people have complained about this. check out link below.

the consensus are that it leaks water due to dealer's fluids and lack of control valves that can be installed under warranty.

Windshield Washer System
My 06 MCS has suddenly developed washer problems. The rear stopped working altogether and the front pulses a dual squirt or two then just drools. The reservoirs are filled, the holes have been cleared and I can here the pump running when the switches are engaged. Can someone please tell me: #1 Where are the washer pumps (are there two or do the front and rear nozzles share the same pump)? #2 What is the easiest way to access the reservoir bottles so that I can check for a clog(s)? #3 Is there another useful Utube video available to assist me? They have been very helpful in the past.
