R56 The OFFICIAL Bayswater Owners Club
#26
Just ordered mine today. This will be the third Mini we will have owned. Tempted by the grey, but already have two grey cars on the drive, so went blue. First Mini was Oxygen Blue so it's a little similar. The black pictures look awesome by the way.
This will be my commuter car, but had to have something fun otherwise I wouldn't use it. Toyed with a Fiat Abarth, but there was something that didn't sit well with me...not sure what. Anyway, will post pics sometime in November hopefully!

Hi. Just got my wife the Bayswater edition last night. Complete surprise to her!!! Had it shipped from Reno, NV to Monrovia, CA. Gotta a few questions.
1) Drove it this morning for the first time and noticed that the ceiling and inside pillars were a Tan color. Is black an option?
2) Its possible to still order a Bayswater Edition?? Just curious.
3) How many 2012 Baywater Edition cars are going to be produced in 2012? (since its a "special edition")
I have more questions but these will do for now. Thanks.

1) When I ordered my BW back in May, the Anthracite headliner was an extra $250 option.
2) I'm not seeing the BW package on miniusa.com anymore so my guess is that it's not possible to still order one...
3) Based on what I see for #2, yay to those of us who were lucky enough to get one before it was removed from the site! I was told that "special edition" meant that Mini would build as many as people wanted to order during the duration Mini wanted to run the package. Unlike "limited edition" cars, where there would only be a specific number built (and usually each car was given a build# out of total built#, most often found placed on a small placard somewhere on the car).

After mentioning to my fiance that the BW package is now no longer on the site, he pulls up miniusa.com and there it is. Apparently my browser hadn't loaded the page fully before.

Yes anthracite headliner is a $250 option. I thought about it, but without the sunroof I thought it would make it feel a bit too dark. The tan color roof and pillars are pretty standard BMW fare.
I don't know how many they have planned to sell, would be interesting to know. I know they sell them in at least the UK, Australia and Canada as well as in the US. That said, I have never seen one in person yet. If the information on GTCarlot.com can be believed, and if I interpreted it correctly, less than 1% of 2012 Mini's were Bayswater's (I'm assuming this is is in the US)

Towed back to Porsche, they couldn't get Contintental tire to match and ended up having to replace all 4. Cost me over a $1000. Got tire insurance on the new one after that.
