Official R56 TROUBLE FREE MILES thread

Yup, it's time to list your TROUBLE FREE MILES for your R56.
(Didn't see a thread like this out there when I searched, so if there is please delete this and direct all us trouble free owners there. Thanks.)

I know there are a LOT of trouble free owners out there and I hope to be one of them as time passes. I'm about 3,000 miles new and completely trouble free. First oil changed at 2,400 to Mobile 1 0-40W and my mileage has steady improved from an average of 27.5MPG to the last tank at 32.5MPG.

I couldn't be a happier TROUBLE FREE owner so far!

Great thread...

Got 4K on my 2012...the only thing I have had to do is find a stripe color that goes with the Highclass Gray and buy snow tires for it. I have even kept the runflats

I picked up a set of Breyton GTS-R wheels with a set of RE70 non-run flats....but, still kept my stock conical wheels and run flats as a spare set.

Got my 2007 MCS used with 25,000. 9000 miles later, not a problem and I hope it stays that way. I did have a dealer read the key fob and discovered the chain tensioner has been replaced already. I love this car. Oil changes and other regular maintenance is easy so far, so I haven't had to pay any pricey service fees. I am putting the checkered sunroof graphic on the sunroof as soon as it gets warm here in Chicago. ;-)

I've had my '07 MCS since new, now 45K miles, I've been hard core on maintenance and oil changes (5K OCI) with Mobil 1 0W-40 and the car has been trouble free. I drive the car hard but don't abuse it and it runs like new. Either I have been lucky or the posters who have had problems with their MCS's follow the "condition based maintenance" program. IMHO oil, filters and other fluids are cheap compared to major repairs....

I'm currently at 49k miles since the last problem. Until switching to an "unapproved" oil, I followed the OBC. The problems I did have were not related to the oil anyway.

2009 JCW purchased on November 28th 2008. I am the original owner. I currently have 31,500 miles. At 28,500 miles I had the clutch replaced under warranty. At 31,400 miles I have the valve cover gasket replaced under warranty.

Other than a few rattles and adjusting the sunroof no issues beyond those mentioned above.

Knock wood, trouble free here too, though she is an MC base and I don't drive very aggressively. 8,500 + miles since July '11. Paid the dealer to change the oil at 5,000, (they were having a sale) and plan to continue to do so, then it will be on their record.... I check the fluids weekly, after washing her. She's an automatic, and I get 31.8 mpg city, up to 37 when on a long highway trip. And honestly, not being an aggressive/super fast driver (80 is about my limit, highway speed, and not sustained by any means) the base model has plenty of power for what I need. She still generates "MINI Grins" whenever I drive her.

knock on wood as well, only had a few very minor problems with my car. O2 sensor went out at ~6k miles, window started randomly rolling down at ~7k mikes - no problems since.. 24k miles, plenty more smiles!

Not 100pct trouble free. MINI replaced a faulty heater blower soon after I took delivery. No problems since then though. Just turned over 50K miles. Mostly highway driving. Average mpg 36.48. Average speed 50.1mph. I have been changing the oil myself (Castrol) about midway through the OBC Service countdown (without resetting) and having the dealer do it when the service alert comes up.

2011 MCS. 8,000 miles over 15 months. One of the most trouble free cars I've owned (coming off the worst.) I'm very pleased.

15K so far and not quite a year old and no issues at all. Change the oil & filter and rotate tires every 5K miles. Average 32 mpg in daily driving with 38 mpg typical on interstate trips. I run it harder than our other vehicles - revs to 5K at least a few times every day - but I don't abuse it. I too am really enjoying my MINI more and more each day.

In nearly 30 years and more than 15 different vehicles, new and used, I have always been blessed with reliable ones - no lemons yet, knock on wood. Fortunately my MCS hasn't been any different.

09 MCS with 16k miles on the clock. T-chain SIL done in 2010 at annual checkup, otherwise oil changes at 5k miles (or annually when I couldn't find 5k miles in a yr) and no problems. Except not having time to drive it, obviously. I'm working 550 miles from home right now, so I only get a chance to drive it about one weekend a month.

Great car, lots of fun, goes like hell and cheap on gas even when pushed hard. Show me any other car you can say all of that about.
