Dont be surprised if you do not get an oil change (or have to pay for it). It seems MINIUSA has changed their oil change policy to an oil change after one year and less than 6K miles or when the OBC tells you that an oil change is due.

I dont want to start another big thread where people call other cheapskates for having to pay for an oil change, I just dont want the OP to be surprised if MINI wont do a *free* oil change.

Yeah as of this month the yearly oil change only applies if you have less than 6000 miles. You wont get a free oil change(well unless the dealer does it outta the kindness of their hearts). MINI no longer pays for a yearly oil change.

I'm not aware of ANY one year scheduled service unless the car has less than 6,000 miles on the odometer. My OBC says 14,000, 27,000, 30,000, and 34,000 or 5/2012.

I guess it would be the kindness of the dealer as I asked about the free oil , lube filter change for my lst year free service.

No one's mentioned the cabin air filter replacement. I believe that's also free along with and oil and filter change.

Cabin air filter replacement

At my one year service appointment, oil change...yes; cabin air filter...NO. I was surprised but have checked the cabin air filter and it looks ok. I assume I will get one when my bells/whistles go off for the first major service appointment as determined by the "computer" at or about 18000 miles.

Just got back from lst year maintenance of 8600 Miles. Lube oil and filter was free, also visual inspection check and making sure all fluids are filled. Advisor offered $99 service for wheel balance, alignment and rotation. I declined.

When I was at the dealer yesterday the SA was telling a lady that since she had over 6k miles, even though her car told her to come in, she'd have to pay.

How can MINI not get sued over this change in our contracts? At the very least, when we make the appt, they should tell us, up front and in no uncertain terms, you WILL PAY unless the car tells you to come in based on mileage. The dates on the car mean nothing now.

I would email miniusa and ask what is cover. I asked for windshield wipers but said it wasn't included.

Just lube oil and filter and visual inspection

Actually the "free 3 year maintenance" sounds wonderful but I am sure it was built in the price of the mini

NOOOOOOOOOO

Do Ya Think ??????

BTW my 3 year old MINI at 28,000 has rec'd two oil changes; and a two year brake fluid change. As the company has figured the cost for an average driver, but perchance I'm less miles than that . . . how many dollars of my purchase cost has been lost due to the maintenance I didn't get?????

It AIN'T free - we pre-pay - and if we fail to collect?????

None of it is free. You paid in advance for whatever you might get.
