Vanishing coolant question.

So, my original post is in the "racing" category, but perhaps that's an unpopular area during this time of the year.

Basically, after a not-so-abusive track day (cold and wet), my coolant level is low. Just idling in the garage the next day, the engine warning (yellow, not red) came on. When I shut off the car, there is a slight hiss I believe to be from the coolant bottle cap. Can a leaky cap be source of my problems?

cheers

Not sure if that is the problem but when you are racing, it will get hot and expand and I have seen coolant come spewing out of a motorcycle when really hot and an overflow tank on a hot rod at the drag strip. Just hope it is coming out of there and it is not a blown gasket in your engine letting the coolant into your oil! That is about the worst thing you could have to happen to your engine! Sorry about your luck here, but is it under warranty? If so, take it to be looked at ASAP.

Oil is good

after running, the oil is all good, nice clear brown stuff on the dipstick and valve cover cap.

warranty, i do have one, from a 3rd party company, and the mini store is far from here, so I try to keep that as a last resort.

cheers
