Want to trade your cloth seats for my leatherette?

I have an '09 with non-sport, non-heated seats. Would love to trade them out for cloth (leatherette too sticky for me).

I have 3k miles on my Cooper, and the seats, front and back, are perfect.

We could meet half-way, etc, or maybe I could drive the whole way from Santa Fe, NM.

Any takers?

Thanks...

It's too hot in Los Angeles for me but I hope someone will take up on your offer.

Thanks.

Also, I've already looked at a lot of seat covers.

Wet Okole's get the best reviews and seem to look good from the pictures I've seen, but folks seem to say that the sweat problem is NOT fixed with these covers.

Yeah, I'd like to trade mine for cloth too. I really like the leatherette, but I didn't know I had the option to get cloth when I ordered my car.

Really? I have the cloth seats and I wish I had the leatherette. I'm wayyyyy far away though. Mine are also heated so that might be an issue.

Just wondering, what don't you like about the leatherette, just the sticky?

There's nothing I don't like about it, I just like the looks of the cloth better.

If yours weren't heated I would drive down to trade this weekend.

Sticky...VERY sticky (though there are a lot of people that disagree), and cold in the winter.

What part of Pennsylvania? If you could drive 1 day (600 miles?) west, I'd be tempted to drive the east that far to meet you.

So I was serious about this when I was at work. Came home and mentioned it to the wife; apparently I didn't realize how much she disliked the leatherette. I would do it in a heartbeat but sorry guys, gotta keep the wife happy.

Santa Fe! Shoot I live in ABQ...I have cloth seats and the leatherette would be tempting, but I have heated seats so I think that would be an issue...unless all the seats have the connections for it?

Well...I'd love to do the trade...you would loose the heating (unless you went with, say, a winter-time seat cover like Wet Okole's which folks rave about...they are available with a seat heater option).

Anyone know if the heating elements are built into ALL seats?

Rather than trading seats, try sheepskin seat covers. They are very very comfortable in both hot and cold weather.

I hear you...but I have searched the site over and over again for recommended seat covers, pros/cons, etc....the thing about sheepskin is that "fluffy" look...really takes the sporty/clean look away from the interior.

I had considered a sheepskin "vest" which would just do the center of the seats...leaving a "cleaner" look than a full sheepskin seat cover...I found them for $69/pair...but that still leaves my legs to sweat.

Plus, if I can do a trade for cloth seats, the net cost should be zero <g>.

The sheepskin covers I got came from Costco. They come in off white, light gray or Blue. They cost a few years ago 35.00 each. Very reasonable and very comfortable.

I recently covered my leatherette with Wet Okoles. There is still a bit of sweat factor, but nowhere near like the bare seat was. I don't think I sweat any more than I would with cloth. And I like the looks. They also make the seat a bit softer since they add a layer of padding.

It certainly added color to the interior. Mine came (used) with black seats, black dash, piano black trim and black headliner. Bit much. Now there are red and white hibiscus Wet Okoles. Adds some fun to the car.
