Apparently he had a MINI, loaned it to his girlfriend, bought a S2000, after 6 months gave the S2000 back to the dealer because it 'had problems', got his MINI back from his girlfriend, started to look for a JCW, got repo'd.

All in all, horrible finances. Before the JCW even entered his mind he should have been thinking $480/mo is a HUGE car payment. Not, hmm, I wonder if I could squeeze another $100 out of my non-existent budget for a JCW.

It looks like this thread should really just be left alone. If this kid had the Mini or not, maybe he learned his lesson, maybe he didn't. Thats what kids do. Either way, I think the thread is dead..

You might hate it now, but your parents are teaching you a very good and very valuable lesson. I hope you get your mini back soon.

As for one of the comments about the kid having learned his lesson and this thread being dead I would disagree based on why should we have to learn lessons over again. After all we might have other young folks in NAM that are thinking they can swing a payment that is just out of reach for them. This would be a great source of reference and yes some of the comments have been harsh while others have been empathetic they are all true. As for the comment about he might be in boot camp that would be the best choice he would have made in all his years of wisdom. That is provided he qualified.

That why I said that is what kids do. I don't think the comments were harsh, he obviously needed them. I just don't think this thread should keep going, especially when this kid disappeared 2 pages ago...

In other news, what color was that Mini? I'll keep a look out for it on the repo market. Would be nice to pick one up on the cheap.

Oh I'm well aware it was directed at Mini For Life it's just that I almost felt like I was being blunt on a few of my comments this one regarding color was a classic.

Master Chief,

I think it was for someone else...Mini For Life is probably regretting the post...

I see in your signature that your daughter is in the Coast Guard...I work for the Coast Guard in NY.

You probably could've been a Commander or Captain in the Coast Guard...maybe that does equal to a Master Chief in the Navy.

I'm happy being a Master Chief and an extremely proud Dad when I see what my kids have done. Watching her graduate from the Coast Guard and now hearing about her rescues she is involved with just makes me smile. Thanks for your work with this fine service.

When I first saw this forum I expected something with humor but that had transpired with our cars. Such as the time when I had freshly washed, dried and polished my MCS. I was taking my bride of almost 25 years to a dinner with the MidCal Mini's for the monthly dinner. Now I live about 45 minutes south and as I was headed up took a phone call over the blue tooth. I closed the windows to eliminate background noise and had just hung up when I noticed a large dark swarm coming from the right to the left across a two lane road. I was in the number one lane when the largest swarm of bees flew in front of my car. I had honey from the front of the car down two swatches to the back of the car and a pool about 4 inches across by the windshield wiper blades. So much for washing my car however it was a sweet deal.

I was doing 30MPH getting onto the NJ Turnpike today and received a softball size imprint on my windshield from another car...Thank God for windshields.

A Windshield for a Cooper Clubman cost around $400 installed in NJ...Rain Sensitive cost more...FYI.

Ouch and I thought getting three rock hits in the first few months was bad. I know that my insurance paid for mine with no deductible all I had to do was call them.
