Well, this sucks...

Drove to FL. Friday night and made a post about my cracked windshield. Second time I've had a cracked windshield in the last few weeks. Unfortunately, it happened this time on my week old JCW.

Well, more bad luck... I started the drive in from Tampa this morning at 10am. It normally takes me 7-8 hours to get back to Charlotte.

It's 10pm and I just got it. My car went into limp mode and I couldn't get it over 65. I couldn't find a parts store so I stopped in a Walmart and picked up an OBDII reader.

The ECM threw a P0304 code and after I cleared it, it threw a P3901 code. (something about high pressure fuel...blah, blah, blah)

Sucks to have a not only 2 week old car and I have to limp it home... couldn't even keep a 60mph constant speed at the smallest incline.

Ahhhh, guess I'll be seeing the dealer for the windshield and engine now.

Mark,

You home? Or still on the road and posting via the Iphone in the MINI Road Service tow truck?

You have so crappy luck.

Just be happy that your car wasn't built on Friday the 13th like mine was. I am telling myself its a good thing because all of the workers in Oxford were being extra careful to prevent anything bad from happening.

Is there a reason you didn't call roadside assist and get it flatbeded?

As of 5pm, they hadn't had a chance to look at it yet. I imagine (I'm not holding my breath) that I'll find out tomorrow.

Yup.... I was 500 miles from home and though the car would go into "limp" mode, I was able to drive the car still. I had to occassionally clear the code but at least I could drive it home.

My guess is the ethanol crap that they are putting into the gas is probably screwing up the fuel pumps.

Limp mode welcome to my last month. i ended up getting a new HPFP for the DFI system.
I have like 3300 miles on my car. I am not very pleased with the mini reliability.

As of the end of the second day, they hadn't even looked at the car yet. Hopefully today they'll at least determine what's wrong.

If they look at it today, I'm picking it up and driving to charleston mini. It's worth the 4.5 hour drive. (okay, in limp mode, it's more like a 7 hour drive...lol)

I think it would be fun to just be in the passenger seat when you are driving. Everytime you post a story about something that has happened to you it sounds epic!

I had to limp home once stuck in third gear in my old Ford Countour. Air condtioner broke and engine was overheating. I feel your pain!

Look on the bright side-- you weren't driving a FORD!
