Chili Red blackout... Pics por favor...

Hey folks, I'm thinking about blacking out some of the chrome on R56 (when weather allows). If you have any pics of your Chili Red MC/MCS with some blacked out chrome, I'd appreciate some photos. Thanks!

I'm totally diggin' the blackout stuff. I'm definitely doing the chrome on the grill and beltline. I might just pasti-dip the head/tail light trim and see if I like it before I do something more permanent.

simply remove the headlight trim rings and spray with Plasti-dip or as I did body color paint. the trim rings are very easy to remove, but be careful the little tabs are easy to break.

Gloss black:

Anthracite:

That's all I've got. I really like how the anthracite looks against the red. It's less contrasty than black, which is a huge plus IMO.

Very true.

Pretty soon you'll have your own "vinyl styles."

Mine looks just like the one above but with a matte black checkerboard roof on black. I color coded the scuttles and gas cap. I'll be doing the door handles soon. I wish I had the aero kit.

That looks great!!! 2 questions:
  1. What's that button on the driver's side doorhandle?
  2. For the front headlight rings did the color-matched headlight washer cover come as part of the set?
Did you buy the headlight/taillight rings as a set or DIY? (Oops 3 questions, my bad )

What paint are you using to match Chile Red? Or is it plast-dip too? I want to paint the chrome trunklid bar over the license.
