door lock problems

I'm not sure if the doors are suppose to lock when driving, i remember my 04' MINI did, anyways when I'm driving I hear a high pitched noise that sounds sort of like static. When i lock the my doors the noise goes away. anyone have any idea what this is?

Can't say anything about the noise, but R56 has a programmable preference where you can set the car to lock when you drive off & also to RE-lock if unlocked but not opened within couple of minutes.

all right thanks, I think I'm gonna take it into the dealer to have them look at it. I need to get a tow kit anyways, for some reason it didn't come when i picked up my new car, and I didn't know of course until i needed it towed.
