Cosmolene drip

I am still getting cosmolene dripping from the rear corner of my bonnet onto my black wheel trim. It wipes off easy. I look under the bonnet and apparently it is coming from inside the fold of the sheet metal. Any one else noticing this on their new Mini's. I guess I'll just keep wiping it off. Of course the hotter the weather gets the more it seems to melt and run out.

You already know it's not an endless supply.
Since it's warm, it all may melt and run off.
It's probably some goop from the factory a worker had and wiped.
I'd be pissed a bit, but not too worried.

I have a bit coming from a small hole in the sheet metal just below the latch mechanism on the boot. Now that it's hitting 100+ in Sacramento I'm wiping about an eighth of a teaspoon off the bumper every other day.

I found the stuff washed right off at the coin operated car wash with the soapy spray. And since I pretty much wash my car every weekend that way, it was not a big deal.

When I first bought my MCS back in April I noticed the Cosmoline dripping from the hood on to the front bumper. It seems to be normal and more noticeable in warmer climates as told to me here on NAM and from my MA. It has since gone away after a few weeks.

Mine drips on right side onto the wheel trim. Soap and water take it off.

This is the internal panel rustproofing that Mini sprays in during assembly to prevent internal corrosion later on. The cosmetic inconvenience is worth it .IMO

it never goes away...

I still get the Cosmodrip mostly on the rear hatch of my 2005 S nearly 4 years after purchase. It never goes away.

Klasse-all-in-one will take it off, and make it easier to *get* off once it returns. available on the internet for some big $$ but WELL worth it.

Simple Green spray will take it off. This is my second summer with the stuff and I'm not getting nearly as much as last year. I figure eventually it will go away.

303 cleaner will also get it off.

Mine has almost stopped leaking on the wheel trim. Now it seems to come out from bonnet all over the grill. Fun stuff!!
