Blackout - See ya, chrome!

Well, mostly.

Lyle (Vinyl Styles) does great work wrapping the parts! I'm lovin the look. Installation was a snap. Next steps are Joey-Mod this weekend, then Eibach Springs, when I can afford it.

Thanks for the comments, folks! The car is really transformed from stock, and I could not be happier with the outcome.

I did the handles with the same vinyl I did the belt-line. Took a couple of tries to get what I wanted, but I still plan to get the matched satin wrapped handles from Lyle. Of course, money is needed for that, and I am kinda short on that after these mods.

How hard were the door handles? Do you have the convenience package? I just ordered blackout for around the grill and tape for the beltline. Let the blackout begin.

Not too hard, but I have lots of experience with vinyl on cars. No comfort access, so I did not have to deal with that.

LOL. Na, chrome is fine... for others

I would love a British Racing Green/White with all chrome + driving lights etc., but for the Mellow Yellow/Black, it just lent itself to this look.

How hard was it to take off the head/taillight trim? Can someone please help me with some pictures to look at to see how to take them off.

How fast did you get the parts back from Lyle?

Taillight trim is super-easy. I did it when I installed my fog/brake light kit. I assume the headlight trim is equally simple. The one thing you need to be careful of with the taillight trim is the paint on the body. You need to gently pry the trim off with either a plastic tool or a screwdriver (with the tip wrapped in tape). I did the latter and it worked great. Just go all the way around the trim piece and it will pop right off.

Thank you!

Lovin the Konigs. They match the theme, and have the added advantage of hiding that pesky brake dust. The lighter weight is a plus as well. I had the Flame Spokes from the factory at around 22lbs each. These are only 16 and change. I think the total, with the Falkens, came out to around 35-36lbs each.
