Alta Group Purchases?

Is there a place on NA for group purchase requests? (sorry but I couldn't find the place to post)

I already have the Alta CAI, and looking to get the R56 Turbo Inlet Hose, and R56 Boost Tube Ugrade Kit, but dang at $550 bux it would be nice to get a break. I am sure there are others out there looking to get this kit.

Heck all 3 will run me $1k.

I know on the ls1tech site there are GPs all the time that cut the price down.

Any chance up here for a break in price if we get enough people wanting this?

Try posting in the Drivetrain (Cooper S) section and/or contacting ALTA directly. I know Adam is willing to offer price breaks when and where he can.

The Vendor Group buy sub-forum doesn't show any current Alta deals, outside of one organized by JSC Speed. I'd hit Adam with a PM as he's generally responsive and seems willing to help members out when he can, so he might be interested in setting up a group buy.

Normally hitting up the vendor 1:1 you can get a little break, but I know on other car forums like i listed you can get a great deal when a whole bunch of people want them.

im considering that as well, but probably the 19mm. i think the 21 would be too much for me. but im going on what ive read on the alta site. i dont have any experience with them to know how it will really affect my car. i know in general, but thats a conversation for another thread.

if it comes down to making this happen, ill probably go for the 19mnm rear sway.

Okay, can somebody explain to me why everyone is jumping at the boost tubes and inlet tube? They make like 5 hp together at the top of the powerband and lose power in the bottom. For $500+ I think I'd rather purchase a CAI, springs, sway bars, Forge Intercooler (for a little more), heck anything. I think they're mainly cosmetic, but maybe I'm just stupid.

+1. I think they're mainly cosmetic also. I have it but I really don't see it adding any hp or tq. I am interested on the inter cooler or down pipe. Maybe the gauges. Please let me know if Adam is really doing a group buy.
