Auto stop/start

Can anyone tell me if the auto stop/start feature is on all new cooper s models, or is it just the diesel? The brochure is a bit vague on this.

I believe that it is on all the new Mini's EXCEPT for those going to the USA. Being from the USA I fell cheated. In Scotland I think you will get it.

Thanks, OkieSnake. Although I'm not sure if it's a good thing - sounds pretty weird to drive.

If you are autoXing, do you have to keep revving at the start line until you take off?

if you look at the base of the shifter in between the sport button and DSC off button, that blank button is where the switch would be to turn off the auto start/stop feature is. If you were going to be racing, i would assume you would want that turned off

MotoringFile.com has a good article explaining the Auto stop/start.

If you come to a stop and put it in neutral the engine shuts off (unless AC is on). Then when you push in the clutch it starts right away, not using the starter motor I think. It's to save gas while you would be idling.
