"premier protection package"

I'm looking to by a new MINI, and my local dealer tacks on a "premier protection package" for $500 on all the MINI's in stock- which consists of wax, window "protectant" and upholstery scotchgard or some such. Sounds like a bunch of HOOEY to me! (and I don't want it)

What do you all think?

Total gouging. My dealer waxed the car for me for free - added window tint at my request (and cost) - otherwise, no such costs for, basically, delivering it clean and shiny! I'd fight this "gold-plating" and, if you have the option, go to another dealer.
