an issue after it rains...

I have had my 07 MINI just over a week. We had a pretty good storm last night, and this morning when I rolled down my windows, water came pouring down from the roof, on both sides!

What's up with that and I don't suppose there is really anything I can do about it rather than just don't open the windows?

That doesn't sound good...but I also can't picture what you're describing, especially if nothing weird is happening when you open the doors. I guess water is getting in the seals? I've never had the problem, or heard anything here. Next time it rains, roll 'em down with the doors open to keep water out of your interior. And if it happens again, it probably deserves a trip to your dealer. Good luck!

I have experienced the same thing. Now I just make sure I have gotten up to speed before I roll the windows down. Let the wind blow it off, a lot easier than picking up the car and shaking it dry.

The metal tab/trim around the roof holds a nice little reservior up there until the car starts to move. If you go in reverse first the pool of water all sloshes to the front and spills over. If the window is open you get wet.
My Jeep Grand Cherokee does this on a much larger scale.

Got the same thing with my MCS. I guess it's all part of the charm. What the hell, it's only water and besides, sometimes it lands on my girlfriend and she looks hot in a wet shirt.

Our driveway is on a slight incline, so maybe I won't have this problem. While parked at home anyway. Hey, I won't have this issue until I take delivery in mid August right?

And now my wife is wondering why I was going back and forth in the driveway with the passenger window open after it rained a couple days ago....

As I cacall my MA asked me if I wanted the "WTE" option for my Mini. I think I said yes but it hasn't rained here since I got mine over 2 months ago.

I've also noticed that after a rain, if you open the boot it'll dump some water inside. Not much, but annoying.
