Hey Everybody,
I did the whole MTTS in my Classic Mini and what I heard was, don't tell anyone, that MINIUSA will do a MTTS again in mid-summer 2008 from Seattle, WA to Key West, FL for the release of the Traveler.
This one (2006) was just a pre-ran for the 3 week ran in 2008.
The "GP" didn't have that big of a market share, like the Traveler will.
I will be getting a Traveler and I will make the trip again.
Be safe and stay turned.
Keith
I'm In. A slightly bigger MINI would be the perfect companion for my R53. I have been eying the Traveler and would jump at the opportunity to take part in MTTS in 2008 and use the opportunity to take delivery of the Travelor/Clubman. I cant wait. Keep us posted.
Hey, Keith! Glad to hear you made it the whole way! It was a pleasure meeting you and driving with you the first couple of days of MTTS this year. You've got a really nice car.
Are these rumors you hear official? I've been hearing a lot of speculation by those who would like this to happen, but don't have any official reason to believe this other than that MINI said they would like to do this again.
I won't have to remove my decals...well I allready knew this before the first MTTS;). And I hope fireball tim plays the interview with MINIUSA when I posed this question, maybe video 3. Video 1 is allready on www.cartv.com!!
Thanks Tim!
The MINI USA people I talked to on MTTS said that they'd like to do it again, but there was no specific route being considered. They seemed open to suggestions. I think this is all just rumor.

Reason: shitty speller
Hrmmm... So I buy a clubman... Pick it up in Monterrey... Drive to the east coast... Put it on a boat... Fly back to Guam... And wait 6-8 weeks for it to catch up?
Actually, I like the clubman... But I think the next hoopty will be a black 2008 camaro... We'll see how the clubman comes along performance and price wise.
The Traveller is a resurrection of a name from the early days of the mini. The stationwagon version of the classic was called the Austin Countryman or the Morris Mini Minor Traveller. I really hope the Clubman name sticks, as if they call it the Traveller I will have to buy one (seeing as how I have an original) and I can't afford it (seeing as how I have an original...).
