Hi,
I just purchased a used 2009 mini cooper clubman. It seems like there was water leaking into front passenger side door panel. The fuse box that is on the passenger side kick floor was corroded.
The problem prior to replacing the fuse box were:
1) Car not starting
2) sunroof not working
3) front window goes down when you open the door but does not go back up when you close the door, leaving it open a little.
4) Front wiper not working
5) left side barn door does not open.

I replaced the fuse box. It's a good start and some problems are resolved including car does run no, sunroof works.

The last three problem (Driver side window stays open, front wiper not working and left barn door does not open) are still there.
Also, now the trac off light is on. No check engine light though. Car runs fine.

Any idea on where I can start with this problems? I checked all the fuse, and they checked out.

I still have to find the source of water leak, i know sunroof drain is a problem, is there any other that I should check too?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Does the car have the original Windshield in or has it been replaced with a NON MINI one? It is easy to tell, does the glass have the MINI logo?

Some times (most of the time) the replacement windshield was not installed correctly and it is leaking at the seal (I have to get one of mine replaced because of this issue).

Motor on!

Just checked, the windshield is original. I double checked the sunroof drain and the drain tube came loose. Just replaced it. I also just noticed that the "TRA MODE" with the triangle is now on. Is that the transport mode? I have manual transmission.

The local shop here in southern Oregon that works on my clubman went on for about 10 minutes,or so, that this is somewhat common for mini coopers. They should be happy to help you out. Here is their phone #, and website -

When you say the left barn door doesn't open, what exactly do you mean? It doesn't open when you press and hold the bootgate button on the key. Depending on when it was made (MINIUSA has gone back and forth over how it should open), only the right door will open when that button is hit, either about an inch (so you don't take out the car parked behind you) or all the way open (For convenience). The left barn door is opened manually by lightly squeezing the handle.

Jaque, the left (Driver side) barn door does not open manually when I squeezed the handle. The right side (passenger side) door barn door opens fine but nothing happens when I squeeze the handle for the left door. I'm also having trouble with heated seats, They have also stopped working. Nothing happens when I press the button, no light comes on. Any one have any idea on where I can start?

There is a footwell module on the passenger side under the seat. I'm afraid yours may of gotten wet and needs replacing. May want used as new is big $$$$. This would explain most of these issues.

I did replace that. The fusebox that I'm referring to in my original post was located on passenger side footrest.

I attached a picture of the body control module that I replaced. That's the actual picture I took. Left one is the old one and the right one is the new one from the dealer. By the way, my Mini Cooper is 2009 clubman base model, not "S" the link to realoem took me to one for R53...

There is one by driver side also, is that the one you're referring to? I haven't replaced that, just the passenger side one.
