Question about Continental SSR tires for Winter

2nd try as I screwed up my first posting in the wrong place..
I'm looking at a CPO 2012 Clubman S that has 4 new Conti SSR's on it. The Run Flats... Has anyone tried these tires out for a season of Winter driving.
I'm okay with buying more snow tires if it makes the Clubman better in the Snow since we just bought Four 17" Michelins and matching Rims for our 2012 Countryman S that came with the 18" Pirelli Run Flats.
The Pirelli's and the 18" Black Rims are staying off until Spring returns
Just wondering if the Conti's are as bad as the Pirelli's were for Winter Driving

ContiProContact, ContiSportContact, or ContiPremiumContact? The latter two are summer tires unsuitable for Chicago winters.

Thanks for the reply. I will have to look at the tires again to see which version is on the rims. The way things have been going for me lately, it will be one of the Summer or 2 Season Tires...
But, I work next to our Tire changer at work, so if I have to swap out the Conti's for some Snow Tires, at least I don't have to walk far from the Clubman while it's on my rack....

If they were put on by a dealer, they will be the all seasons. My wife's '14 Countryman has a set, and while I don't love them in cold, they are good enough that when I offered to get her a set of snows this year (having driven last winter on the Contis), she said "don't bother, I had no problems last winter."

Not exactly a resounding endorsement but not horrible. We get a fair bit of snow; she didn't get stuck or drift across lanes in storms. *shrug*

I'd say give the Contis another month and see what you think then.

Thanks for the vote of confidence on the Conti's.
They ARE the All -Season tires. If I buy this car, I'll report on how the tires perform.

Pepper White, S model. The Conti's so far have done pretty well in icy and snowy conditions

Now that we have .....deeper snow.... I Almost got stuck with the Clubman but made it out and back with some fairly deep snow in places.
The usual suspects, climbing OUT of a parking spot that you easily pulled into, and unplowed streets.
Mondday morning was even worse, but once again my mighty Clubman made it out alive...

Not to revive an old thread... but....

Just to add my own input, my mini came stock with 195/55/16 contiprocontact SSR tires. They rode like rocks, and shattered bones whenever we'd hit a bump. Once the tread started to wear down, they were terrifying in the snow. Truly awful. Only 20k miles on them and they were slipping everywhere. (At 40mph on hardpacked snow I could cut the wheel hard either way and the car simply wouldn't change direction.)

Got some Blizzak ws80's and never looked back.

Thanks for the input. I haven't driven my Friends NON-RFT equipped Clubman[ a Justa with the regular rims and tires] to compare it to my S with the RFT's, so however my Clubman rides and handles, it's all I know about them....
I made it through Winter with only 1 time of getting stuck in Snow, and that was a bit a high centering more than anything else.
