r55 A/C not as good as r56 ?
Ok, from day 1 my A/C on hot days is never as good as my wifes r56 .
When it's over 100 it's really noticeable. And I have checked and double checked the freon, both systems yesterday when is was 100F the low side was 42-44 PSI . But it takes like 5 miles or more to cool my car down where I can take it off of HI .
My only guess is the cabin area is larger in the clubman and we have the same a/c compressor and coils and it's just not very good on real hot days.
Back in the day I know my Trans AM was never very good in hot weather and it was due to the slanted design of the condenser and lack of air flow. But I'm not talking about sitting parked and it not cooling, which seems to have little difference as the fan is on high and seems to draw enough air at idle to not affect.
Maybe I'm asking too much from a car made in UK were I doubt it ever gets this hot.

I don't have an R56 to compare to, so maybe that's helping me not complain about it. But, it does get hot. I usually drop the windows and open the sunroof for a few miles and blow out all of the hot air, while having the MAX button pressed as well. After I close everything up, it seems to be cool, but I do have to keep the fan running pretty high.

El Centro ? I didn't think anyone lived there. Stopped there once for a hot refuel on way from Tustin to Yuma in a CH46 Helicopter and it was roasty.
