OK, almost have 30,000 miles on my 2008 MCCS, so its time to reshod ole' betsy. I want to buy tires that are non-run flat. since I live in the Phoenix area not concerned about snow, ice etc. so I'm looking for tires that will get at least 30,000 but prefer 40,000, performance is not the most important thing but running a close second to mileage. Also I want to stick with the size that is on the car now.
any thoughts? suggestions?

Well one thought comes to mind. What size are they? With an s they are most likely 205/45/17 but could be different.
TireRack is about the best place to read reviews of tires.
SO to get to your questions. Here are a few suggestions.
Yokohama S-Drives $95-$100
General Exclaim UHP - $95-$100
Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport $95-$100
BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 $125-$140
I am sure there are many others as well. I will be running the Yokohama S-Drives in a 215/45/17 this year. A couple of friends have them and they work well and one has more that 28,000 miles on a set and they still have good tread left.

I have the same problem and have been shopping. The reviews at Tire Rack show excellent reviews and performance for Goodyear Eagle GT's which are $115.00 at Sam's Club.
I'm going with those for my Clubman S.

Be sure and look at the manufacture date before they mount them. I have heard of people getting tires that were made 2 years prior to mounting and already weather checked when buying at Sams.

I am going from 16" (came with the car) to 17" (R97 flame spoke) and debating between 205/45/17 and 215/45/17. Any issues with Clubman S and this kind of rim (R97)?
I would like a beefy tire (215) but don't want any rubbing on my stock suspension. Any input?

215 is very commonly run on second gen cars with out issue. Just anything wider than that can become and issue.

Saludos, i just had some Hankook Ventus V12 evo tires installed on my 2008 clubman S. I always do an extensive search of anything I intend to buy. I have found this tires to be much much better than Bridgstone RE-050A Pole Position and Dunlops dz 101 and many other premium tires that I have owned through the years in many sport cars. By far these are one of my favorite tires. They are very quite, confortable, and stick like glue on dry and wet. After all the search ny top choices were Hankook and general Exclaim UHP. Same or better performancethan premium brands for much less money. Cant beat it!!!! Also, go for 215 they will not affect on the negative side and will in the good side.
Just bought Michelle A/S 215/45/17 for mine. When I get a picture with the new Rota RB wheels, I will post. Oh, and when you dump the run flats don't forget the mobility kit, tire sealer and a pump.
Great brand of wheels, inexpensive, strong, and very reliable. I am sure they will look great. One of the benefits of the R55 is the fact that it has the factory space under the trunk for a spare tire but, you are completely right for the R56 should prepare with the flat tire kit.
just got around to checking my tire size, I assumed ( I know I know, don't do that!) I had the 17's but NO I have 195/55/R16.
In my original post I said I wanted to stay with the size that it came with but now.......not sure.
Now the next question is if I go to 17's will my speedometer be off? And besides looking cooler is there any other advantage/disadvantage to going to the 17's?
If you want to keep your 16's, consider going to a 205/50/R16 tire size. You'll find alot more tires in the higher performance catagories versus the 195's.
