How to get Roof Rails

Hi,

I have a 2008 Clubman that I bought slightly used, so unfortunately wasn't able to customize it with all the options I wanted in exchange for a good deal .

I think I could really benefit from roof rails- as I bike and ski, but like to easily take the crossbars off when I'm not using them. Is it possible to get roof-rails installed at the dealer? Or is this only something you can get with a new one?

Thanks,
Ethan

At last account - because the roof rails are bolted through the roof and are installed before the interior ie: side airbags, wiring, and other important stuff, are layered in - the dealer will not touch this project. The air bag system in particular would be a liability issue if something caused 'discovery' that the dealer removed / touched safety system components to install the rail system.

Use the 'Search' , There is at least one big thread on this topic. Probably in the Clubman forum.

You might check out the thread at the top of the Clubman forum:

Lots of info that might get you what you're looking for.

Good luck!

icedub,

Your only real good option is to get the OEM Roof Rack.

As stated in the above post by mrchairboy check the thread in his post and use the search to find many more threads on this exact subject.
