Bad Morning

So, driving in to work this morning, I had a bad day.

Background: My new Clubman has just shy of 3k miles on it. I work in an industrial area of a town that has fallen on hard times. As such, there is a lot of urban decay, abandoned lots, feral dogs and general awfulness.

This morning, one of the "gray strays" as the feral dogs are known ran in front of me and I clipped it at 25mph. He bounced right up and ran off into an abandoned industrial site. I got out to see if I could follow, but it was a little too decayed for my taste, and these dogs have been known to run in packs and attack pedestrians. (A postal carrier was almost killed by a pack a few years ago).

Anyway, the damage to the car is not awful, but it is there. The piece around the lower grille is cracked and a couple of panels are "sprung". I'm distraught, both for the dog and for my car.

Sorry to hear about your morning. Hopefully the dog and you are ok. Little damage to the clubbie but nothing that can't be fixed. At least you have a job and get to enjoy a Clubbie!

Be sure you have it checked out- I had a run in with a coyote a few years ago in a Scion Xb. Didn't seem like there was any serious damage- mostly cosmetic. Took it in 2 months later and found out the radiator was bent, along with some other minor frame damage. About $3 grand worth. Luckily the insurance people covered it even though it happened months before I found the damage.

Good luck! Hope all goes well- there's always a bad feeling after hitting any animal. The day will get better!

Jay

Greetings, Dbati,
Sorry to hear about the collision. It is too bad that these poor dogs even exist. Good of you to be concerned, but I'd say you were correct to turn back.
What is the style of your Clubman?
