The turbo in my S

I used to hear turbo cooling off after about 30 min drive of more when the car is parked inside the garage. But recently I don't hear the turbo cooling. Yes, the waether has been cooler now. But I still should hear the turbo cooling after a period of driving right??

When I drive, I don't hear the "z" sound as much as before. How can I know if my turbo is still working? Please help~

Lol It might just mean your turbo is in the breaking-in period. But depending on what type of turbo it is, the ball bearing turbo systems i hear you have to clean out more. But to know if your turbo is still working at full potential, go in second gear at around 35 then get on it. As some people that will post after me and think I am dumb, I have done this before. I drove the Cooper S R56 and noticed alot more torque steer than my JAC.

If your turbo was dead you'd have some sort of warning or indication pop up by now. As far as the cooling sound, you should hear it after every drive no matter how cool it's outside. The turbo gets very hot! Listen carefully, if you hear nothing I would take it in for a check up.
