Roof Spoiler question

Does the rear spoiler the dealer sells keep the rear windows clean or is it just for show? I live on a dirt road and the dust settles on the rear wiper blades. It's going to scratch the windows eventually and in the rain the spray coming off the tires covers the windows faster than the wipers can clear it. Remember the spoilers on wagons in the old days that were angled down to clear the rear window. Does anyone have any input. I love the Clubman but it needs something to control the air back there.

Sadly, they are just cosmetic. Mine does nothing to help. I think rear overhang of the roof design goes too far back for the spoiler to do anything...

It would have to curve down to push air down along the rear window to keep it clean. Another Mini add on for pure show. At least the spoiler doesn't melt unlike the fake hood scoop... Not yet anyway...
