I just got back from a 8 day trip to La Quinta, Ca (golfed 8 days straight), and I missed my clubbie the whole time! I flew into San Diego and drove the 2 hours to LQ. I rented a Jeep (pos) Patriot at Fox Rental Car, and began my drive. The Jeep was horrible, first off the rental was all manual (roll-up windows, manual side mirrors, manual locks!). The thing had no accelaration and when you wanted it to go it was whinning so much it sounded like it would blow-up! Not fun driving on the I - 5, I - 15, I - 10 as I tried valiantly to keep up (Hwy 60 was not fun!).
Amazing that my golf clubs only fit when one rear seat is layed flat (just like the clubbie), and the Jeep felt like it was a "tad" bit wider than the clubbie!
The 100 + degree heat (all 8 days) was handled well by the Jeep (no sunroof helped).
Basically, I am glad to be back in the Clubbie and able to "quietly" drive it like I stole it!
I've got an s too, it's weird for me now when I drive something else
