Best mod of all time - MCCS to MCC rear 3rd brake light
Ease of modification - 10 (super easy)
Cost of modification - 10 (less than $3)
Time to execute - 10 (less than 20 minutes)
Ascetics on Chili Red - priceless
8 screws, one rubber tube, and one 2 conductor wire connector is all it takes to remove the rear upper BRAKE light carrier. Then I pulled the BRAKE light out by carefully prying the tabs on the back of the light.
Once the light was out, I cleaned it with a clorox wipe and applied some wide BRAKE light red tape.
It doesn't look as good as a factory red light, but it sure was cheaper. Maybe it will last long enough for me to call the parts department and order the light from a non-S clubman.
I don't need to post photos because it's been done before, but I'm more proud of this than my JCW front grill trim mod and I felt like crowing.
I'd be interested in trading my white S light with that of a red Justa if someone is interested. My original one had a leak so I didn't want to trade it off, but this replacement I have hasn't leaked in months. Success!
Mine came stock with a red one. Red didn't really match brown very well so I went ahead and traded another NAM Cooper S Clubman owner for his white one. He got my red one to match his paint, I then took the white one and sprayed it with a matte black tint in order to blend it in with the matte black plastic liner. Now it's all smooth with no line across the roof.
Yup, it's a great HC and it has my favorite wheels, too!
Sorry, now back to the third break light discussion.

Best bang for the buck/effort. I'm thinking your carputer may be the best of all time.
thanks. i was fishing for that compliment, but my carpc was a lot of money, blood, sweat, and tears for the bang. my mods are more geek than aesthetics or performance. after seeing before pics, i agree that yours gives the highest B/E ratio.
