Blind Spot Mirrors

Anyone have these or tried them and what are your thoughts? Pretty much the only thing we dislike about our R52 is visibility particularly with the roof up.

I have them in my R52 and use them. Easy to replace. When the top is up, it helps even more. You can adjust your mirror out but this gives you that extra view at the very end on the glass pass the line.

I used one on the passenger side of my R52, and it helped. However, the most important thing is to adjust your mirrors properly. You should angle the mirror outward to point into the blind spot. Many people angle their mirrors inward until they can see the side of their car, which is useless if you think about it.

rkw is spot on. Proper alignment removes the problem without add ons. The old 'Car Talk' guys have the solution on the following link. It works.

I have some of those silver dollar size walmart specials on both sides. I also learned a long time ago to turn my head a little to the left before pulling out. Saved my butt a few times over the years.

Go to MINI parts dept and get just the mirror lens for the passenger (right) side and flip it over and use on left. Takes a day in traffic to asimulate to use but well worth it. If the printed warning irritates you, you can get a plain one (passenger side-left) from MINI UK but it's a bit of a wait. Works on Gen I cars.

The massive blind spot problem in the convertible is the passenger side, even with the stock convex mirror. The drivers side isn't any different from any other car.
