There are extensive threads discussing recommended and compatible coolants.

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...nt-to-use.html

The short answer is MINI offers a coolant through its dealers and others which is recommended. Zerex G-05 is often recommended as an alternative.

Good luck.

I just stick with the Mini coolant. I do not live near a dealership so I order online.

Strongly suggest going to a BMW/MINI dealer, and buying a jug...
It was actually cheaper than the ZEREX G05, which ALMOST meets the spec, but is still different...

The MINI Cooper S holds 6 liters or roughly 1.5 gallons of coolant. More info here.

Make sure the coolant is mixed 50/ 50 with distilled water as the Blue coolant is in concentrate form. Most MINI system are total 8.5 liters. Better to hard more then not enough already mixed.

Where are you seeing most mini systems having 8.5 liters? I just picked up coolant (unfortunately not from you guys) and the dealer and my own research confirmed one bottle is fine (as it needs to be mixed 50/50) and the R53 / R52s take 6 liters total.
