Wear spots on cabrio top

I have a number of shiny spots and a couple of frays on the vertical back part of my top near the back windows. I have had some experience with cloth top covertibles (saabs) and generally have not seen frays or shiny spots until 10 years/125000 miles. My cabrio is less than 2.5 years old and less than 30,000 miles. My next visit to the dealer I will bring this up. Is this normal on the mini cabrio?

This is not normal, after 2 years and 18000 miles the dealer has replaced the top on my 07 3 times, seems like they fixed it this time. My fix was to replace all the top parts metal frame as well as the fabric. I can now say that after 4 months there is no wear marks on the top.

Thanks for the heads up on the top shiny spots (referring to the conv. top and not my head). I went to the dealership with only 300 mi. left on the warranty and they are going to replace the top. Awesome!

I've only had my top replaced once and that was at about 6k because it came with
some sort of blemish from the factory and although I was not really worried about the
blemish the dealership offered to replace it for free.
I presently have 48k with the replacement top and its still holding steady.
