Am I making a mistake by using air on my top?

Sometimes it looks like my whole car isn't dirty, but the top/back window is dusty. I have an air hose reel next to my car...is it OK to blow off the top? I'm worried that I might be driving the dust into my top instead.

I've read here to not use soap on my top, and I learned the hard way to not use a mitt at all up there (you wouldn't believe how long I went over it with the sticky grabber to get all the lint off), so I've been rinsing it off only, bu the blower is much quicker when the rest of the car isn't dirty.

I guess it would work, just don't blow into the top. Come across the top at like a 15 degree angle and blow across it in a sweeping motion.

I blow mine off frequently with no issues. I also vacuum it sometimes. No worries.

Angle sounds good rather than straight on. I also vacuum.

I suggest using caution at the seams near the back window and make sure not to aim towards the seam where it could cause it to separate. My top is separating there which in my case is a warranty item, but it appears to be a weak spot.

I have a VW cabrio, and my standard practice was to always work front to back in the same direction the wind and water would flow. We are getting rid of the VW cabrio for the MCS cabrio the VW has given us 13 great years with no leaks, but time to upgrade.

The air idea is goog, I use the leaf blower on mine. Also when hosing the top off I use a microfiber towel on it, I push the water to the rear of the car and then go over it front to back. No issues yet, but the top was replaced 3 months ago under warranty. The first top laster a year and a half before there was a wear hole.
