With many thanks to my Dad (Commander Dan), who already provided a brief announcement of my recent purchase, I thought I'd take a moment to say hello to everyone and formally introduce my new MINI to the group. I'm looking forward to all the good things to come!
The Details: 2007 Mini Cooper S Cabriolet. BRG with a green top. 18,200 miles. JCW. Premium/Sport/Convenience/Cold Weather. Front & Rear Fog Lamps. Limited Slip Differential. Black Bonnet Stripes. Harmon Kardon. Center Arm Rest. iPod connector. Bluetooth. Bike Rack prep. JCW wind deflector. Gobs of style...
Thanks for the compliments, everyone! It really has been a blast so far - over 600 miles in less than a week. That probably doesn't seem like a lot to the real mega-milers out there, but for me, that's a *ton.* I've been driving around just for the sake of driving...best of all, I'm actually getting a tan!
great looking car and nice pics, really love the green on green. better watch out and keep a bottle or tube of sunblock in you glove box, i learned the hard way when i first got my 07 lightning blue cabrio, real bad sunburn.

Congratulations & welcome to the obsession.
I've had mine for years & I still have trouble staying at work on sunny days....Butters keeps calling to me. But I'm out of sick time :(
At first glance, Lionel looks eerily like the '06 I bought about a month ago -- also BRG with black bonnet stripes, also JCW, also premium and sport and convenience and cold weather, also front & rear fog lamps, also limited slip differential, also Harmon Kardon, also center arm rest, also iPod connector, also JCW wind deflector. Mine has a black top and upholstery, no bluetooth, no bike rack prep, somewhat different wheels (perhaps because it's a year earlier?), and considerably more miles -- but still looks and runs like new, because first owner took great care of it and sprang for 100,000 miles of maintenance (which transferred to me when I bought it). First owner also put Perfidious Albion mirror caps on the outside mirrors, which are a bit hokey at first glance but grow on you after a while -- though if I had had my choice, and if they were available, I might have opted for, say, East German flags rather than Union Jacks.
In answer to pyratio, my car is named Kobal. Kobal was the Archangel of Laughter before the fall, who accompanied Satan when he left heaven and then transmogrified into the Demon Prince of Dark Humor. He is also known sometimes called the Entertainment Director of Hell, and is the patron of comedians.

As often said... one goes to Heaven for the good weather and Hell for the company.
Back in '05 I ordered a BRG/B MCSC, but before production started, my old ride died (synchronizers disintigrated, leaving chunks of metal in the tranny). Had to get something right away and couldn't find any BRG within reasonable distance (1000 miles). Ended up with PS/B with everything I wanted but LSD (no not the acid kind) so ended up Stirling.

Congrats and welcome, Lionel looks like a real beaut, nice job on the pics too! What's your first mod?

Did you find out what caused the synchros to go kaputt?
