KILLERBEE: Do you have more pics of your interior? How did you paint the door trim yellow--remove or mask?

Hi 6f7,
What does 6f7 infer? Your car looks mean and I love those wheels.
I removed the parts but the door pieces only came out with the whole
panel.
Word to the wise....prep very well and put a couple color coats and several clear coats as it is easy to chip that paint off.
My next MINI (cabriolet) will have the antracite interior and will need a lot less interior paint work as I really like the look of the anthracite verses the look of the silver that came in 2002.

Wow, these are all great-looking cars! I've heard the complaints about keeping a black car clean, but I've always responded that a black car looks better dirty than another color clean! There's just something about it...

Both of my brothers also drive black cars (Saab and XTerra)...looks pretty cool in the parents driveway when we all show up for a holiday! Actually, with my new MINI, we'll all 3 be on our 2nd black cars...I'll see if I can get a pic of all 3 together and post it.

Killerbee and Moorlockx, very impressive customizing...I don't think I will do much to mine beyond some low-level interior mods/accessories (hot pocket, glove box org, etc...maybe the parcel shelf)...i've just never been a customizer (though, in all fairness, this will be the first car I've owned that's worth doing anything to .

Killoerbee, I'm REALLY wanting to be at the IJ opening, as I haven't made it to any club events yet...unfortunately, it conflicts with both of my sons' baseball games...what a moral dilemma! Maybe it'll rain and spare me the agony...

I'm 6 foot 7.

Thanks. I got enough "cute car" comments that I had to fix it.

Thanks for the info.

BlackKnight....I'm normally not that much of a customizer myself, but the Mini just seems to beg to be personified. I've done nothing drastic, just a bit here and a bit there.....The hardest part is trying to stop after it's started.

bbbb:

As you can see from BlackKnight's picture, JB/W/WW/WS is a beautiful combination. I just picked up the exact same combination a month ago and I can attest for what it does to your face.

Here's the warning I posted to the last person asking about this combination: Your car will *never* be clean. Black shows dirt like you wouldn't believe. White wheels show brake dusting even after a short trip around the block. Prepare to spend a lot of time lavishing attention on your car, or it will cease to look that beautiful. Somehow the black brake dust on the white wheels doesn't fit the theme.

If you can live with that burden, buy it. So far, it's been worth it for me.

Quinn

P.S. -- Preferably you don't live in the SF Bay Area. I'm against doppelgangers.

I was all prepared to have a hell of a time keeping my Blk/White MINI clean... since I got my car is has rained every day but one.... yes the car is dirty but not nearly as bad as I thought it would be..... perhaps the lack of a rear spoiler helps... My last hatch... a white GTI Vr6 was NEVER clean in the rear.... even in dry weather It would get covered in dust.... The 7 holes are quite easy to clean and a good coat of wax on them helps a ton.... for as good as black looks on the MINI I say it is worth it.....

I've been hanging out on here in the regional thread appropriate to my area (midwest) and am going to join the local club (probably tonight at the IJ opening gala). Do you guys think we should start a "black MINI" club? All MINI owners should love each other as brothers and sisters, but, c'mon, we know our color choice is actually the best one...black MINI owners unite! What do you guys think? we could share cleaning tips, etc.
