Going to our first movie!

Me and Itercide (my MINI) are taking a friend, who could be a girlfriend in the near future to see Itercide's 1st movie (I hope he can sit through the whole thing without getting cranky.) Now, my fear is...will we (me and my female friend) be able to see the movie, and be comfortable at the same time? Any tips as to seating arangments to make the drive-in expericence, all that it can be?

Leave the Mini at home, take a pick up, fill the bed with 12 sleeping bags, a case of beer, and some whip cream just in case!!

I realize the Mini may feel left out but you may thank me later!

My boyfriend and I put a futon mattress in the back of my MINI when we went to go see Cars. No, we didn't fit in the boot with it, but we did pull it out and set it up on the pavement. With the way the parking lot was set up (large banks on each row) it was perfect.

Otherwise.. the boot gets uncomfortable after a while so I'd stay in the front seats. I know it might put an awful lot of space between you, but it sounds like this is your first date anyway Good luck!

Well, Little Bit, that is a good plan. The only fault is that Jeremy is still a minor. That could be a small problem when it comes to the purchasing of Beer.

Twelve sleeping bags? I dont think they want that much company.

actually, i took her to prom, and we've been out a few times prior. but this is the date that will lead to something or end up with nothing.

i suggest the back seats, pull the fronts forward in the position they go to when someone trries to enter the back, then enjoy the back seat. sure the seats may be in the way of the windscreen and actually seeing the movie, but atleast youll have the best space to comfort ratio, and there no gearshift to get in the way when youre in the back, so its pretty much free roam. hopefully you and your gal arent really planning on watching the movie anyways

d@mn this is kind of making me think of how lonely i am right now, i havent had a girl in the MINI in about two months now (maybe even a little more, but im going to stick with two in my head so i feel a little better about myself) goodluck, and as a fellow mini owning male under the legal drinking age, i hope you make off well by the end of the night. hey ive got no one right now, so i guess the best i can do is hope for the best for a fellow mini owner

Okay,
if you go to watch the show, bring a blanket, pillows, or chairs, your own popcorn popped at home, ice chest with drinks, sunflower seeds and ask friends to come in their car and make an evening of fun and history. If ya sit in the sloped drive will help with viewing from the car.

If plans are not to watch the movie, park toward the back of the theater, so you can leave or have more privacy...Comfort, well you are going for making a little history and whatever else...LOL, Cars never the most comfy place to snuggle and the MINI being small, but alas, when love is in the air, you can't even smell the popcorn!

Not sure you can sneak too many in the boot/trunk in a MINI, anyone got those stats? LOL Just remember, to know what was Showing that night, in case someone asks! And have FUN!

Take out he backs of the rear seats (4 bolts and a little adjusting, leave the bottom of the seat in so the next steps don't require as much padding), fill the boot about 6" high with 1 or 2 big fluffy comforters, and have a couple of extra blankets and pillows back there. Press and hold the dome light until it flashes on then off that way it will stay off at the movies, Practice backing into parking spaces.

When you arrive, back into the space, pop the boot open, make sure you don't bump the hot exhaust, and get comfy in the back.
If you're going to run the stereo make sure you leave the key in the run position so you don't need a jump afterward. Have fun.

Remember you're young (16 right?) be a gentleman and treat her like a queen

The only way to do drive-ins is park all the way in the front and sleeping bag it on the slope. Well, I guess I'm assuming that it's a grassy drive-in with slopes to park on like the one I've always gone to. Other than that I would say the front seat reclined would be best.

Sorry....don't want to corrupt any minors! Plus that leaves more beer for me!

The 12 sleeping bags were for padding.
