The same with the turn signals. If the flashers are on and you activate either the left or right turn signal, the emergency flashers deactivate and the turn signal selected gets priority.

That's actually some pretty ingenious thinking to do that.

I discovered this doing a walk-around of my car the check lights.
How did you put your foot on the brake while walking around the car?

Are you Reed Richards?

I use a long umbrella myself. If I am trying to check for lit bulbs in the daylight, it's easier in the dark against a garage door. Insert umbrella against brake pedal and release the seat back, it jams in with just enough force.

Nah, no Reed Richards here. But I have been compared to John...never mind!

I skillfully utilized my snow brush having it hold the brake pedal in for me. It did a great job and was very cooperative.

Radio RDS cycle

While playing the radio with the key off the RDS will cycle everytime you push the odometer reset button.

I don't remember the meaning of the acronym but it is when radio stations broadcast the artist and song that scrolls across the radio screen.

K9, I'm not sure if you still read these, but you are so right! I just purchased an 08 Clubman S with 44k miles and thought it would just be a plain commuter car. But now I want to put on emblems and stripes, replace shocks and all kinds of stuff. What the heck is happening to me?

:-)

I've got a nice Nardi shift **** I'd like to put on, just have to figure out how I can get the original off.
Didn't know that about the parcel shelf, thanks.
Oh, don't slam the hood, close it gently then press it shut just above each headlight. If you slam it you risk separating the ball&socket joints in the headlights. I learned the hard way but was able to pull them back together through the bulb changing access doors.

There is direct connection between the gas pedal, steering wheel, driver seat, and the muscles in your cheeks causing uncontrollable grinning.

Jr is that why I get strange looks while driving the Mini? If they give me strange looks while driving the Expedition I drive over them then I really grin.

Well, maybe someone already mentioned this, but I just noticed it. Here in the rainy Northwest of Oregon I end up using my wipers a lot. When they are on intermittent and I stop, the sweep changes from every 5 seconds to around 9 seconds. If I have the slow constant on and I stop it changes to a sweep every 3 seconds. If I have high speed sweep on they change to slow speed sweep. Pretty cool, I think.

I wonder if I can activate the 'Transport Mode' that saves battery life. My Mini spends 3 to 4 months of the year parked and that could be handy. Or maybe I should just put it on a smart charger.

Is it supposed to do that??

In the car wash happily spraying away on my 05, Chili convertible when I heard the click of the doors locking. Is there an auto-lock feature? Sure glad that I hadn't left my keys on the seat.

Closing the bonnet.

Learned this the sort-of-hard-way. Don't slam the bonnet. I did and ended up with the drivers side xenon headlight staring at the road in front of the car. Slamming the bonnet disengaged the ball & socket joint of the wigglies in there. I removed the light, opened the access covers and was able to pull the joint back together. Now, I close the bonnet softly till it rests on the latches, then push it closed just above each headlight, though I'm going to try the Mini emblem someone suggested.

If you have a face lift (04 PRODUCTION and up) your high beam bulbs are the same style (H7) as your low beam bulbs. I recently remember reading about it, and on the way home from a christmas party BOTH (yes, both) bulbs failed within 30 seconds of each other. Swapped the bulbs, and drove home with my old, dim, dying high beam bulbs that were never replaced in the life time of the car, but they got me home.

I'm sitting in my Mini, waiting for my wife, for at least 20 minutes and I discover the electric windows still work. Why is that?!?

I didn't know there is an "auxiliary volume." Press the musical note and cycle over to this to give the stereo more power/volume.
