I, as a 21 year member of the Passive Solar Home Club, am annoyed at the misleading marketing line to lure unsuspecting Chili Red members to fall into. I got onto the "web" to research work sh...stuff, and I'm suckered into this.
I like the tunnel shot. But I have to ask, why on the "wrong" side? Have any sunset pictures?

This royal grey supports all of your solar-ness 100%!!!
from one 06 color to another...hot!
Speaking of which, if RG was available on the MC, it was my first choice. It wasn't and I am a big fan of red, so I thought why not Solar Red, everyone's got CR.
Great pics. If I didn't get a convertible, I think my MINI would have been SR.

At the risk of starting a controversial twist to the thread, and realizing that I am fairly new to the whole Mini world, I heard from the friend of my Aunt's sister on my Uncle's cousin's side that the Solar Red color was actually developed for Mini owners whose unexplained sensitivity to the power and passion of Chili Red had caused some unfortunate moments of distress. According to this same individual, the good folks at Mini Cooper realized that there was a market out there for folks who craved the excitement of a red car, but desired a more sedate, mature approach to the giddy sensation of driving a red-hued Mini. Honest.
To be quite honest, the Solor Red/Silver combo is absolutely stunning, and your photos really capture the total coolness!!! Would that my humble little Mini (whence finally he arrives) will photo so well!!!

You will love how the car looks in the morning with dew all over it.

It will.
OT: I see you live in Westminster. I use to live in Arvada. If you're not already a member of mini5280 you should consider it. They also have a forum here on NAM. Also, Randy Webb's Webb Motorsports is down off of C470 and Sante Fe.
hate to break it to you, but RG *IS* available on the MC...

Don't sweat it, you did just fine!!!!

Solar Red looks really nice, especially with the chrome grille! If only it was available on the MCS, I would have gone for it... I had to settle for Chili Red instead (not as nice, but I wanted the supercharger...).
Sorry I missed this thread earlier, my Solar Red was delivered in December and a week later MINI announced the Solar Red Color would be discontinued after April production, making it a limited production run.
Now that production has been discontinued has anyone seen what kind of numbers of this color was produced ?
